Writing Insights

Writing, storytelling and representing social work.

- Writing Insights grew out of a simple question: how can we tell the story of our work better??

Writing about social services means telling the stories of people, professions, relationships, responsibilities and decisions that often remain outside the usual discourse about this work.

The five Insights explore, from different perspectives, the relationship between writing, storytelling and social work. They look at how we write about a relationship, how we tell the story of a profession, and how words can make visible what normally remains in the background.

They are short, agile insights that can be read in one go. They are not manuals and they do not aim to teach you how to write well in the broadest sense. Instead, they are opportunities to pause and look at the way we write and tell the story of what we do.

- Writing Insights are all available free for charge, one at a time, starting from a special day: September 17, 2026.

Because writing is not simply about putting words on a page. It can clarify or confuse, make things visible or leave them in the shadows. And it can change the way other people see our work.
